MALATE, Manila – The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) conducted a two-day training on Digital Marketing and Content Training held at the Armada Hotel in Malate, Manila on 18-19 November 2019.

The training is in relation to the management of the BaLinkBayan (BLB) Project, a local e-government website portal aimed to serve overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Trainees were from various local government units (LGUs) in the country, from their respective offices such as the Public Employment Service Office, Provincial information Office, Management Information Systems Office, Tourism Office, and even local chief executives.

Resource person came from the CFO, discussing the following topics on the first day:  (1) Updates on the BalinkBayan Project, (2) Establishing Credibility and Accountability Online and the Code of Conduct for Public Officials and Employees, (3) Communicating with your Audience/Coming up with an Effective Complan, at (4) Useful Tools and other Software for Content Creation.

On the second day, Canva as a Content Creation Tool and Launching a Successful Digital Campaign were tackled.

After the discussions, CFO Director Marita del Rosario-Apattad, Director Ivy Miravalles, and other CFO staff stated that the workshop is one of the most effective means of determining whether the participants had a full grasp of the topics discussed in the training.

The activity is a big help especially to the LGUs who have just started creating and developing their local BLB websites, and additional tools for those who are already running their own web portals for a time.

The primary objective of the BLB Project is to provide OFWs easy access to investment opportunities and services from government agencies, not to mention strengthening ties among Filipinos working or living abroad, and the families they left at home.

With the collaboration between the Provincial Government of Laguna under the leadership of Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and the CFO, the localized BLB web portal project or the Overseas Filipinos’ One-Stop Online Portal for Diaspora Engagement, will help in the growth and development of the province of Laguna, further improve delivery of basic services to the public, and integration into the programs of the government
