The Provincial Government of Laguna together with the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted a skills training for repatriated OFW’s and Families in Laguna at the PESO in Los Baños, Laguna on June 10-11 2021. On the first day, the trainers taught the participants the process of making tinapang bangus, tilapia, and galunggong, providing them with skills in traditional fish smoking. The second day of training focused on making fish balls, kikiam, and relyenong bangus (stuffed milkfish). The participants were also taught how to run a business effectively, providing them an alternative source of livelihood to tide them over during the current COVID-19 health crisis. The said event aims to help the repatriated OFW’s and their families in acquiring livelihood skills to help them with the current challenging economic situation that the nation is facing in this pandemic season.
